RUOK? Ambassador

As an Ambassador for suicide prevention not-for-profit R U OK? I share my own experiences of living with depression, and my attempts to ‘check out early’, to demystify the complexity of mental health, and what it means to support friends, family and those around us. Every day is a great day to have a conversation that can change a life, or just help make a bad day a little bit better.

I share my story and the RUOK? message of 4 simple steps to starting a conversation and helping friends in a struggle through speaking at events, businesses, groups and with media. If you’re interested in inviting an Ambassador to speak, contact the RUOK team directly. using this RUOK? Speaker Request Form

RUOK? Podcast, “We Need To Talk.

In this episode of We Need to Talk we explore why vulnerability is something to be celebrated, and the power a simple chat with a friend - in those times when it's needed most - can have in creating a feeling of genuine connection that makes them not feel so alone.

Our guests are LGBTI activist and R U OK? Community Ambassador Craig Mack who shares how regular check-ins with a friend saved his life and former monk, author, resilience expert and Chair of the R U OK? Conversation Think Tank Kamal Sarma who gives us the low down on what the research tells us about the power of connection and conversation.
